We've updated shipping tables so shipping rates should be far more reasonable to accommodate multiple items. Posters ship independently, and international is still a doozy, but prices should be sane. If you find any specific issues, please let us know in the comments so we can modify it. Some people should see some magic reductions in shipping costs if they've already filled out your surveys, and some of you were waiting to complete your surveys until shipping was complete, so you should be all set!

Buona sera, beauties and beasts!

Strap in, this is a long update!

Cards on the table (ho ho ho) - the general reaction to The Lovers was fairly negative, which was a bit disappointing on our end. Each card is reviewed throughout the process by multiple people for content, design, and theme, so they're not being decided upon whimsically. We have our own reasons, justifications, and ways to describe why and how Schmendrick and the Tree were a perfect fit, which the card guide was planning to go into. Let's face it, tarot art is not always what you'd expect, not always pretty to gaze upon, and doesn't always reflect the theme of the card. I'm personally convinced that not one soul survived growing up with the scene with the boobie tree unscathed, and the general feedback was that the card itself was gorgeous (which we appreciate hearing!). 

That being said, based on the feedback, we will do another art for The Lovers. At the end of the day, we're here to create something awesome, not fight or debate artistic choices. We're admittedly a bit more cautious now about sharing artwork, since a lot of time, effort, and feeling goes into each one, but we thicken our skin and the work continues apace. Some cards will be a departure, some will be a reinterpretation, and some will bear a striking resemblance to more traditional tarot artwork. We ask that you enjoy the ride, and to trust that we've just as invested in this as you are. It's quite exciting on our side to see the new cards evolve as we near the completion date. 

Sooo...let's all get jazzed about cards again!

A step outside the Major Arcana in our card reveals, we've got the Ace of Swords, by the very talented Medusa! A symbol of success, of clarity, and victory, this card is all about achieving breakthroughs. Bask in its glory!

Requests for information:

Card guide proofers - the guide book is a combination of input from readers, other guidebooks, and extensive research, but we want to make sure the interpretations are what they should be. If there are any volunteers to review the guide book further down the road to make sure the descriptions match the themes and tones of the cards, we can get a more accurate reflection of the cards. Let us know if you're interested in helping review the guides for accuracy!

Card printing suggestions - there's a lot to consider with the printing and manufacturing side of things. We're in the process of evaluating cardstocks, finishes, paper weights, and everything else for the productions of the deck, and working closely with manufacturers that handle tarot decks routinely. No matter what the final choices, we're going high-end across the board, but this is a learning process for us too, and we'd love to get some feedback on what the must-haves are. If you've got any suggestions or are versed in the printing side of things, please send us messages, recommendations, and comments on important things that might be easy to overlook :)!

Backerkit: We are debugging the table rates for combined shipping on items, and we'll keep you posted when it's all fixed; $70 for shipping is not what you should end up paying! That being said, the USPS just adjusted their rates in the last two weeks for shipping, so there might be some changes there, since with the bonus stretch goal boxes the weight is significant, but we'll keep you posted on that as well.

We've also got some other projects coming along, in addition to the tarot deck!

New Project: Last Unicorn Scarf

Printed in full color on a sheer, beautiful, 18 x 60" poly satin material, we'll be doing scarves, several in fact! The next one we're working on is the unicorns emerging from the waves. This first design is just about ready to go into production, and we wanted to share it with you. We'll be putting this up for pre-order probably around Feb 10th. 

New Project: Last Unicorn Blanket

Who doesn't need a beautiful minky blanket to cuddle up with? We'll be doing several scenes for blankets, and we'll open preorders later on. Artwork is still undergoing revisions, but just wanted to share this with ya'll in the meantime!

That's all we've got for now. We're nearing the home stretch before long - are you getting excited?

Greetings all!

The Backerkit is now live , and you have all just been sent your surveys!

This link can be shared with friends, families, and other interested parties wanting in on the action. Pre-orders are open and available for anyone wanting the decks, and all decks will ship with the upgraded books and foilings, from here on out, *but* the boxes and signed cards will be add-ons if you were not an original backer. There is important information below, so please read the wall of text before posting :).

Please note that, just as with the Kickstarter, there might be bugs you discover in the BackerKit that we can't fix once it's launched. 1,600 people is a lot of eyes and special cases that might not have been previously considered. Please bear with us, as exciting new problems are discovered and dealt with :)!

Some notes:

1) You have *plenty* of time to get your surveys done, and you will have plenty of warnings. 

2) If you need to update your addresses between now and release, please do so, otherwise you will be responsible for shipping if it bounces back or gets left at an old address,

3) Reminder that if you have the x3 Pin tier, you will only receive three pins, unless you choose to get the Full Pin set upgrade. 

The following tiers are Pin x 3 sets

4) All Full Pin Sets are getting a few extra bonus pins. We just kept making them as we went. We love you. You're welcome. If you love us a bunch and find this news thrilling, there's a tip jar if you want to show your gratitude. 

5) If you have the x3 Pin Tier and purchase the upgrade to the Full Pin Set, you're still going to get prompted to choose three pins - just choose three of the same kind, and we can see in your order that you have the Full Pin Set and will ship accordingly.

6) For pins, you will need to purchase multiple upgrades from x3 to Full Set if you have a tier that has multiple decks, if you want each one to have a full set.

7) Each deck you pledged for gets one complete set - deck, book, box. If you pledged for multiple decks, each deck gets the accoutrements.

8) If you find a problem in your order, don't panic! We can get it all straightened out, we promise. Our plates are pretty full right now, so some basic stuff we might ask you to hold off on asking us about until later. We will send "last calls" for people having problems with orders before things go out the door, and can switch into customer service mode more readily at that point. 

9) If you backed the Kickstarter, boxes are included! They are listed as a separate pre-order item available for newcomers, but all stretch goals for original backers are in effect. 

-We will be creating a special site for Last Unicorn merchandise in the coming weeks and you can place pre-orders for new merchandise (and make requests) on the site before long. Blankets and mugs are fast approaching. 

-For everyone asking about The Lovers card, we will address that in an update soon in a way that hopefully meets your satisfaction.

-Special shoutout to Kayliana for being so awesome in walking everyone through the hiccups and hurdles in this process. You rock!

Pins

The pins are in production! We'll be sending out surveys for pin level backers shortly here. Here's a few new reveals, plus a What Pokemon Are You style reveal sheet.

BackerKit Followup

The BackerKit has had its finishing touches added to it, and we'll be incorporating keychains into the structure as well, now that we've got finished artwork for the bulk of the keychains and the models underway. BackerKit is currently closed for the holidays, so as soon as they get back in, we can pull the trigger and get it released for you.

Other Projects

In other projects, we've also completed the 3D model of Haggard's clock, and done a primitive 3D print to test the mesh. There's a little more tweaking needed, but this model is scalable to any size - anyone want to commission a full size grandfather clock that you could walk through :)?

 Keychains are in various stages of concept and modeling right now. These are going to be really, really awesome.
