Welcome to Spring! Hope some of you got to see Peter S. Beagle at WonderCon this past weekend!
The shipment of cards from Peter S. Beagle is finalized and we're ready to begin preliminary packing phase presently!
Guide Book Available!
The guide book is now available in PDF form for anyone who loses theirs, needs a quick online consultation when doing their readings, or just wants to see more deck content in advance. We hope you enjoy it! Warning, the guide book contains card art, so if you're wanting to wait for the decks to see the final deck art, you might want to skip this for now.
This will find a more permanent home later (when I figure how to upload files to be public-facing on the Geekify website), but here it is for now!
Addresses Locking
This is your last and final call for address updates! We are locking everything and beginning order imports on Monday, April 8th!
You'll get one last shot in the future to fix any goof ups when your shipping order confirmation email comes in, which will list your shipping address, and if you see an error on it, you'll have about 24 hours to get it fixed up. It's a pain in the butt to do it that way and can hold up other orders, so make sure you're up-to-date before then!
Orders Finalizing
Anything not on your order by April 8th will not be included in this shipment and will need to be a subsequent shipment. We'll have everything as a permanent addition to the store afterwards. Send us a message if you want anything added in, as the BackerKit doesn't always let you add things directly at this point.
Cards Charging
In tandem with this, this is your final reminder that cards will be charged on April 8th for anything additional you have purchased. As before, if your card doesn't go through, you'll get an email notification and you will have a few days to fix it. Contact us directly if you encounter any issues. Don't panic - we'll help you get it resolved!
That's it for now! We've got our work cut out for us, so if you need us, we'll be drowning in boxes and bubble wrap for the next two months :).
Signed Cards Are Coming In!

We've gotten the heads up that all the signed cards are about ready to be sent over, and we've just sent return labels for Peter and his representatives to send them back to us as they're finished - there were a lot to get through! A huge and heartfelt thanks to Peter and all of his associates for helping to bring this extra flair and personalized touch to the campaign! Once we have all of the signed cards in hand, we can start boxing everything together and preparing the tarot sets to send on their way.

March Production:
We are currently in the midst of fulfilling the Hero U: Rogue to Redemption Kickstarter for Transolar Games, so we will begin staging everything Last Unicorn for later in March, and as the signed cards come in we'll have room prepared to sort and pack. We've got two conventions later this month (PAX East and WonderCon, if you want to come see us!), so we will be locking down addresses and starting our pick lists, followed by a packing day (or two or three) around the end of the month. With the conventions ahead, just be advised that we've got a lot on our plate and so we might be slow to respond in that time. By sheer volume, Kickstarters take awhile to fulfill when we start boxing things, and we'll be doing shipments in waves and batches.
Packing Day:
Kayliana had expressed interest in coming down to help out on our packing day - if anyone in the Colorado area has any interest in lending a hand with the shipping process (or even just coming by to see the workshop), drop us a line!
Shipping:
This is a note for the future, but when your order has shipped out the door, you should receive an automated tracking number directly from Geekify (and potentially an email from BackerKit with the same). If against all odds you've missed all of our messages and notifications to keep your address up to date, you will have roughly 24-48 hours before the package leaves the workshop to catch any last minute address updates from people recognizing it's going to a wrong address. This process has saved us an enormous amount of bouncebacks and forwardings for backers, so if you receive a notification that it has been shipped and hasn't updated for a day or two, don't panic - it will start moving shortly!
Last Minute Add-Ons:
A reminder that we can still make manual last minute adjustments to orders if you send us your requests by direct message. We added the blankets to the BackerKit (it slipped through the cracks before) and added pictures to a few things that were just concept arts before. Reminder that if you have new add-ons on your order since you last finalized your order, those add-ons will be getting charged this month.

Who's Ready For Cards!...We Are, Sorta!

Hey Unicorn Fans!
Alright, an update for you all! (We've been waiting for the most recent news before posting). The cards for signing were sent over to Peter at the end of the year, and our most recent update from one of his agents a few days ago reported that he was about a third done. Could be an any day thing, or a little while longer yet. This actually works out, because we're still waiting on booklets to arrive, so right this second we're in a holding pattern.

So, as the world turns, we will take advantage of the time in-between to do some housekeeping and reminders.
Last Chance at Extras!
Your BackerKits were all unlocked awhile ago to keep addresses open. It seems some people can add stuff to their carts still, and some can't. If you want anything extra added to your order, now is the time to do so! Cards get charged when orders get locked, and you will have a window to update your card info if it fails. If you have any trouble adding things, send us a message and we can add them manually.
Reminder: everything will be permanently added to the Geekify store and ship normally once the Kickstarter and BackerKits are all completed, this is just a chance to save some shipping or get limited edition items.
Update Your Addresses!
In every Kickstarter we've ever shipped for, we usually have about 6-8% bouncebacks. This is frustrating for everyone involved, so the next few weeks are going to be aggressive reminders to get your addresses up to date. Once your items are out the door, it's out of our hands, so make sure you have a good address on file.
If you have trouble updating your address, send us a direct message (not a comment) and we can update it.
We still have about 80 people who have never responded to their original surveys, so we have no address on file. Don't be one of them!
Artist Visit!
Adrianne (of the Major arcana and most of the Suit of Swords) also came by to do the first reading with these cards. It promises good things coming to fruition (I drew the Empress!), which felt pretty appropriate.
It was great walking through the cards one by one and recalling stories and moments that had gone into each one. We're both hungry for more projects once this deck has completed.
Next Step
We've got decals and pin sets all divvied out, so when all the card components are all set, we'll be doing a packing party, and getting everything sealed and ready to be the bane of the post office. We'll post another few updates with final address update notifications and requests before we lock down orders (we'll be doing it in segments), and then you'll also receive a tracking email once it's out the door. We're right there with you, awaiting completion with bated breath!
A Finalized Look at the Goods!

Greetings Unicorn lovers!
It's been a busy month since our last update! Some much anticipated news for you all, some fresh pictures and videos, and more!
Decks
Firstly, a finalized look at the end result of the foiling. In our previous email, you got to see some of the foiling process, but now here's a look at the shiny gold foil on the final decks.
These are foiled front and back, and grab the light like you wouldn't believe. They really make the portraits pop, and we've been ooh-ing and aah-ing over them in the workshop. They've got a great feel to them with a soft matte finish on them, almost velvety in their feel, and fit the hand marvelously. We're definitely glad we went with a custom larger size for these, as they make the cards that much more majestic.
The retail boxes for the non-original backers also ended up looking marvelous.
Next, up...
Boxes
Oh such boxes we have created for you. This stretch goal you unlocked was an entire task of its own, crafted to match the cards in suitable style. Each box is embossed wood, built to fit the decks with a padded inside to house your treasures, carved with a scene of the Unicorn and the Butterfly on the front.

We're thrilled with how they turned out, and are our way of saying thank you for helping bring this project to life - we hope they help make the wait worthwhile, and help protect your cards for years to come!
Shipping Timeline
Alright, the bad news - the decks won't arrive in time for Christmas. We're pretty bummed about that, but looking at the dates and timelines for getting cards to Peter to sign and getting them back, there just won't be time to squeeze them in before the holidays.
The good news is that we can finally say we have a firm shipping date of January 28th. We've been slowly and meticulously ticking each and every thing off the list, so it'll be like a second Christmas for you all, a Candlenights 2.0, or whatever else you celebrate. Everything will be in hand and we'll have done some pre-processing to start doing mass shipments so that we can start getting things out the door. The USA pretty much shuts down between Christmas Eve and New Year's, and there's enough going on in prep work for the few weeks following that that puts us right about then in January. We can process about 100-200 orders per day, which means that there's still about two weeks of shipping to do, once we begin, but you'll start getting shipping notifications from BackerKit (and lots of notification here!).
Shipping costs for us with the boxes are going to be...considerable, especially for international orders, so consequently:
**MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD ADDRESSES ON FILE - we will bug you much more frequently in the subsequent updates, but if your order bounces back, it'll be on you to cover the shipping for a re-ship**
Non-Tarot Things
And now, something completely different!
Just in time for the chilly season, we've got new blankets in glorious colors of the Unicorns in the sea. We worked with Adrianne again to get the design just right for blankets. These magnificent polyester blankets are 50 x 60" with the same design on front and back, and are soft as sin, available here:
These make excellent throws, are excellent for cuddling under, hanging on the walls of your castle, or wrapping up in.
That's it for now! The holidays are descending upon us, and we are hard at work in the workshop on all our projects, so we'll probably be a little quiet until January when we have a flurry of activity getting ready for release.

Foiling in action!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
They said it couldn't be done, but here we are - and things are really starting to heat up! This week we have some pictures and videos of the foiling process and the cards in production. The foil is a tricky beast to get right, and that's why it was so essential that we spend the time refining this stretch goal (and delivering on it). As you can see, the foil takes the visuals of the deck from awesome to truly glorious. Your patience has borne golden fruit!

They are all so unbelievably majestic and shiny! You lucky few who have ordered the uncut sheets, these are going to be quite the wall pieces all on their own.
(Pssst, and right above this one out of view is the highly controversial alternate Lovers card - muhahah!)

The backings just glow and shine in the light. We couldn't be more thrilled with the coloring on all of these.

We've also got some epic videos of the machines in action, stacking, printing, collating, and foiling!
Also, we posted this on our social media channels a week or two ago, but we wanted to share out the design of the tuck boxes for the retail version of the box (the default for people who missed the original campaign). Mad props again to Adrianne in working with us to create a worthy artwork!

Yet another mini-project we had to tackle on the road to full completion, so the cards don't ship naked!
Books:
Since people have been asking questions about the books, we've got some clarification. To keep it a bit more animal friendly, the books will all be done with a pseudo bonded leather, with a nice color and a good rugged feel. We went for a middle of the road option, rather than splitting the production with two types. The final result will have color print pages and a debossed surface, and is going to look awesome. Pictures on the boxes and the books next update, probably!
Non Tarot Deck Things:
Leatherbound versions of the TLU books! We'd mentioned them before, and now we've finally got a design we're pleased to do rebound versions of the upcoming release of the Last Unicorn Lost Journey edition with. They'll be available in the next few weeks on our website. Our Facebook and Instagram will have the latest news on the release around Nov 10 - mark your calendars!

We don't usually mention non-Last Unicorn things here, but since there's so much crossover with fandoms of 80s classics, we just released a new Auryn from The Neverending Story on our website, available here:
Do What You Wish!
We made it full size, in anticipation of someday doing a full sized book replica in the 11 x 14". Because the movie version had always lacked a few details from the book, we've inscribed the back with the words Do What You Wish. This one is 3.5" in diameter, screen accurate, and weighs about 6 oz. It's a big beast! More pictures available on our website.
